The countdown is over, and so is Country Living Fair 2008. Despite the icky weather (rain, lots of scattered rain), we enjoyed ourselves at this year's fair which was held at Ohio Village in Columbus, OH. We saw several improvements since last year's show with access and parking being at the top of the list. The vendor count appeared higher, though I'm unsure of actual numbers. The layout of the fair was more "village" like and spread out. I missed some of the coziness of last year's fair, where all of the booths were snuggled in together, but at least we were able to walk around without mowing people over...too much. That was a good thing. Below are various photos I took at the fair. I'm still doing a little research to find additional information on my favorite vendors so I'll bring you those photos in Round 2.
The wait is almost over. Tomorrow, bright and early, "the sisters" will load 'em up and head 'em out to the Country Living Fair 2008. I am so excited I can hardly contain myself. I was over at this blog (because she's going to be exhibiting at the fair)and she mentioned that the pre-sales for this year's fair have already exceeded the number of total attendees at last year's fair. People, do you realize what this means? It's going to be bananas!! B-a-n-a-n-a-s, bananas!! Despite the thunderstorms in the forecast, I think it'll be a fantastic time. I'll have a full report for you when I return but in the meantime, enjoy some of my photos from Country Living Fair 2007.
By now you may have seen my little countdown on the right hand side for the Country Living Fair. This is its third year and I am so excited! I went with my mom and aunt last year, really not knowing what to expect, and was blown away! I think it is what kick-started my desire to get back on the crafting wagon. There were so many wonderful vendors with such stylish booths and innovative ideas. Talk about sensory overload!! I cant wait to go back this year to see what’s going on in the industry. Because many of these vendors have blogs, I feel like I already know them. So when I see them this year, they’ll seem like celebrities! I’ll try to retain my urge to ask for their autographs but just might have to get some pictures of them!
The other thing that I love about this event is that it has been Mid-west based all three years. It seems like we never get the cool shows…until now! So if you’re in the Columbus, OH area on September 12-14, you MUST stop by the Country Living Fair! If it’s as good as last year, you wont regret it! Check out Country Living’s website for more details.
This past weekend, my mom, aunt, and I all went to Morrow OH for the 2nd annual Country Living Fair. What a fun time we had! Aside from the three hour drive and the two and a half hour wait to get into the place, we all decided it was well worth it. It was an absolutely beautiful day which made the long wait more bearable. Although the fair seemed smaller than we were expecting, it was made up of quality vendors with wonderful crafts and goods. “Support the American Crafter” was a theme we saw often and we couldn’t be happier or agree more.
There were several wonderful booths and some very nice people but I did have a few favorites. I absolutely fell in love with The Farm Chicks, based out of Mead, WA. It was here that I bought these fabulous vintage charms, hand made of course, out of vintage wallpaper and game pieces.
I even thought their booth was just too cute. Check out their fancy banner and clever displays!
Another favorite was Lola B's Boutique, in true shabby chic fashion.
Im kicking myself for not spending more time at this fanciful place, Bloomsbury Loft.
And to sum it all up, here are a few random shots taken at the fair, just for ideas sake.
